Digi-hear? Digi-know what’s coming? Digimon Adventure 04 that’s what!

After the financially sucessful Digimon Adventure Tri Film series, a new film project has been announced.

The project was first teased on the official social media Digimon accounts after the conclusion of the 6th and final Digimon Adventure Tri movie: Digimon Adventure tri. 6: Bokura no Mirai (Future).

However today at a special press event; The “Digimon Kanshasai 2018 -Special Meeting in Odaiba”, more details were announced of the project and fans are likely to be excited once again.

Titled Gekijō-ban Digimon Adventure (Digimon Adventure the Movie), the new film project is part of the overall 20th anniversary celebration of the Digimon franchise.

Gekijō-ban Digimon Adventure (Digimon Adventure the Movie), will be set several years after the event of Digimon Adventure Tri. Focusing on the original cast of characters once again, we will see the original 8 Digidestined (Chosen Children in the original Japanese release); Taichi (Tai) Yagami, Yamato (Matt) Ishida, Sora Takenouchi, Koshiro (Izzy) Izumi, Mimi Tachikawa Joe Kido, Takeru (T.K.) Takaishi and Hikari (Kari) Yagami, all now settling into adult life.

Serving as the producer of the new film project is the original Producer of the Digimon anime projects; Hiromi Seki. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is also returning from the first Digimon anime projects as the film project’s character designer. Kenji Watanabe will also be returning as the character designer of the Digimon monsters.

Although fans were excited, after Digimon Adventure Tri fans were left disappointed, voicing their issues with the messy plot, lack of the Adventure 02 characters and slow pacing in each movie. Could this be the movie to fix all of that?
