For months, Rick and Morty creators; Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon, have been tourmenting fans over the fate of Dimension C-137’s Rick and Morty. Fans were teased that it was a strong possability that Rick and Morty may be getting canceled despite the sucess of the show.
Today however, we finaly have an awsner. Posted on the offical Rick and Morty soical media accounts, Co-Creator; Justin Roiland drew this image to give fans the good news;
So there you have it! 70 more epsiodes, it truly is good news. But does this mean 7 seasons consisting of 10 episodes each like the the previous 3?
After season 3 concluded, Dan Harmon in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, discussed, the possability of future seasons containing more episodes “I mostly blame myself for doing 10 instead of 14,”. It was only becuase production issues with seaosn 3 that lead to 10 episodes instead of the 14 originally planned. “I’m still learning how to do the show efficiently while catering to the perfectionist in all of us. I would like to think I’ve learned enough from my mistakes in season 3 that we could definitely do 14 now, but then I have to say, ‘Yeah but you’re the guy who says we can do 14 who turned out to be wrong so we’re not listening to you now.’”
So when is Season 4 coming?
No release date has yet been set and it may be upsetting to hear that, in an interview with The Detroit Cast, show writter Ryan Ridley, said it could be a longer hiatus than usual, since the writers haven’t even started on the fourth season yet.
However, at the end of Season 3 one of the characters known as; Mr. Poopybutthole, has promised that it will be “a really long time.” But also mentioned a “Santa Claus beard” making an appearence. Considering the prophecy told at the end of season 2 told by Mr. Poopybutthole of Season 3 being released in exactly 1.5 years came true, it’s possible we might be seeing the return this Holiday Season, even if it is just a Christmas Special epsiode.
